About the SLAPSW
Welcome to the Sri Lanka Association of Professional Social Workers.
The National Professional body of Social workers in Sri Lanka was established in 1962. SLAPSW is a full member of the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF SOCIAL WORKERS (IFSW) and the COMMONWEALTH ORGANIZATION FOR PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORK (COSW). Our present membership of Professional Social Workers stands at 750. They are working in diverse fields such as Child Protection, Disaster Management, Poverty alleviation, Prevention of Drug abuse, Prevention of HIV/AIDs, Mental Health, School Social Work, Human Rights, National Reconciliation etc. in the Government , Non -Government and Public Sector Organizations and community based organization.

Mission
1. Advocating for the formulation and implementation of policies related to the promotion of concentration work in education for the development of the social work profession. 2. Provide more effective service to citizens using professional social work. 3. Social services, social development, human development, human rights or such concepts, to prevent damage and harm done to social well-being. 4. Career development of Social Work
Vision
To create the quality development of the social work profession in Sri Lanka and to make the social work profession a necessary condition and make it a profession needed by the people by working for the dignity of the profession, safety and fairness for the society.
Objectives
(a) to enhance and develop the concept of professional social work; (b) to create a link among person engaged in social work (c) to provide training on the conduct of the different categories of social work to the persons are engaged in carrying out social work.Our Services
